Remembering India

I was messing around on my Mac and I put together this slide show.  It is made up of one of my favorite songs and some pics from our time in India in December 2010.  The process of putting this together, and remembering my friends in India, was a blessing. I hope you enjoy it.

The Beauty of Friendship

Below are some pictures of India that were taken by my friend Craig.  As you can see, he is an artist with the camera.

They believe it...and so do I

Below is a video of the kids at the orphanage in India singing the chorus, "He Knows My Name."  As you can see, they sing this song with hope and joy.

He Knows My Name

I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands

Chorus
He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
and He hears me when I call

I have a Father
He calls me His own
He'll never leave me
No matter where I go

Chorus
He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
and He hears me when I call

Home from India...Thankful

DSCF7479 Geographically I returned home from India last night, yet I hold in my heart and mind, now, more than ever, that this is not home.  Home is with Jesus, in the final chapter of the story of the Kingdom of God.  Where there are only tears of joy and no more goodbyes.

Talu, a 12 year old boy, at an orphanage in India, said to me this past week, "I am glad that I am poor and thankful that I live here at the orphanage--because if I wasn't poor and didn't live here, then I would never know God."

I am home from India and thankful.  Someday, Talu and I will live together in heaven, but until then I must be about Kingdom living here on earth.

Off to India

3295310224_14779b7615_b Becca and Ryan are off to India.  From February 21-28 they will be in Bangalore, India working/serving at an orphanage called the Beulah Home.  There are over 90 children that live at the Beulah Home Orphanage with ages ranging from 3 years old to 16 years old.

Becca and Ryan's trip to India is part of the "Love All Serve All" (LASA) mission trips sponsored through the Student Ministries Department of Taejon Christian International School.  This last week of February is a school vacation (Winter Break) and during this week there are four LASA trips taking place.  There is the India/orphanage trip, a Borneo trip where a team of students will serve as an evangelical team moving from village to village sharing the Gospel, there is a Habitat for Humanity trip to the Philippines and a trip to Boracay, Thailand where students will work with a local missionary, helping and serving in various ways.India_country_map

There will be no access to the Internet for the week so this blog will be silent for a while.  On March 1 please check back for details about our trip to India.  In the meantime...every time you think about checking our blog this week, please pray for us instead.

Hong Kong Sights

DSCF6611 I just returned from Hong Kong a week or so ago.  It is an amazing place and a stunning city.  Here is a nice little car that I came upon in the front circle drive of our hotel.  A Maserati...nice.  I got some funny looks for just taking a picture of it (at least I didn't touch it).  You just don't see too many of these in South Korea or in Idaho, USA.  If you are interested in more on my Hong Kong jaunt, please see our family blog.DSCF6610
