War

DSC02448 2

Life without war is impossible in the natural or the supernatural realm.

                                            — Oswald Chambers

Listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways. Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, so our land will be filled with his glory. (Psalm 85:8-9, NLT)

Haste to me Lord, when this fool-heart of mine
Begins to gnaw itself with selfish craving;
Or, like a foul thing scarcely worth the saving,
Swoln up with wrath, desireth vengeance fine.
Haste, Lord, to help, when reason favors wrong;
Haste when thy soul, the high-born thing divine,
Is torn by passion’s raving, maniac throng. — George MacDonald

God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no weekend war that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels. (Ephesians 6:10-12, MSG)

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, … and having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. (Colossians 2: 9, 15, NIV)
