Riches
February 16, 2021
By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to endure ill-treatment with the people of God than to enjoy the temporary pleasures of sin, considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward. (Hebrews 11:24-26, NASB)
Moses’ choice was reproach and/or riches. It is a matter of whether one wants to get rich or be rich. We can be rich in Christ Jesus or perhaps get rich in Egypt, but we cannot do both. — Vance Havner
No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. (Matthew 6:24, NIV)
We can never get to the end of the “unsearchable riches of Christ.” They are our glory in time; they will be our endless surprise in eternity. — J.H. Jowett
My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19, NIV)
