Peace and Gentleness

We must be willing to pay the price of peace, not defined by the absence of tribulation, but the presence of things like forgiveness, Biblical love, and gentleness.                                                             — Walter Henrichsen

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. (Romans 12:18, NIV)

Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. (Philippians 4:5, NIV)

We are afraid someone will take advantage of us if we are gentle. … Paul says, the Lord is near you. … If you can see that, you won’t be afraid. So the degree to which you are known for your gentleness is the degree to which others will see, not your fear, but that Jesus is near. — M. Craig Barnes

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7, NIV)
